Beehiiv Integration

Overview

The Beehiiv integration creates draft posts in your publication. Shipletter uses the Beehiiv API v2 (developers.beehiiv.com). Your newsletter content is formatted as HTML and ready to review, schedule, or send from the Beehiiv dashboard.

Setup Instructions

Step 1: Get Your API Key

1. Log in to your Beehiiv dashboard
2. Go to Settings → Integrations → API
3. Click Create New API Key
4. Give it a name (e.g., "Shipletter") and copy the API key

Creating posts via the API may require Beehiiv Enterprise. If you get a 403 error when Shipletter tries to create a draft, your plan may not include API post creation—contact Beehiiv support to confirm.

Step 2: Get Your API v2 Publication ID

1. On the same API settings page, find your Publication ID
2. Use the API v2 Publication ID — it looks like pub_xxxxxxxx
3. Do not use the older v1 publication ID; Shipletter requires the v2 format
4. Copy the v2 Publication ID

Step 3: Connect in Shipletter

1. Go to the Connections tab in your Shipletter dashboard
2. Under Email Platform, select Beehiiv
3. Paste your API key
4. Paste your Publication ID
5. Click Connect Beehiiv

Using the Integration

When you approve a draft in Slack, Shipletter will:

1. Create a draft post in your Beehiiv publication
2. Set the subject line and preview text
3. Format the content with proper HTML
4. Send you a link to edit in Beehiiv

From Beehiiv, you can make final edits, preview, schedule, or send immediately.
